What to expect

What the day actually looks like.

Hawk's Sports Skydiving Club is a Malaysia-registered skydiving club with a hybrid operating model: static-line training is delivered locally at Tekah Airstrip in Taiping (20-person classes), and tandem and Accelerated Free Fall programmes are delivered via partnership with a Thai dropzone. The Thai-delivered AFF package wraps a multi-day curriculum: ground school, a 15-minute wind tunnel session in Kuala Lumpur, one tandem jump, seven AFF jumps, and seven nights' accommodation near the Thai DZ. The A-License extension adds another seven days — additional coach jumps, solo consolidation jumps, and the packing course required for a USPA A-licence. Licensed visiting jumpers are welcomed at Tekah with prior notice. The club is fifteen years into operation, making it the longest-running skydiving training organisation registered in Malaysia. USPA-affiliated. The right product for Malaysian residents who want to start a structured skydiving licensing pathway domestically (static line) before progressing to the AFF curriculum, for budget-conscious travellers who prefer a packaged tandem-plus-training experience in Thailand over à la carte booking, and for licensed jumpers visiting Malaysia who want to log jumps locally. Day-trip tandems for tourists are not the product — for that, travellers should look at Skydive Langkawi, Helang Megah in PJ, or cross-border to Thai Sky Adventures or Dropzone Thailand directly. Static-line entry starts around RM 1,200, with the packaged Thai AFF programmes quoted at booking. As a club rather than a tourist operator, dates are set around training cohorts, and communication runs direct with the organisers rather than through a booking engine. Tekah Airstrip itself sits just outside Taiping town, within day-trip reach of Penang and Ipoh.

Common questions

Eight real anxieties, addressed.

Tandem operators set their own weight limit (commonly around 90–115 kg) and confirm borderline cases on the day — check the exact limit with this dropzone when you enquire. AFF students have no upper limit but must fit the rig comfortably.
