Skydiving in Bali.

Bali has never had a skydiving dropzone. For an island that sells almost every other adrenaline experience — surfing, canyoning, volcano treks, bungee — that surprises most people, and it is the single most common question we get about Indonesia. That changes in 2027. Skydive Bali is being built at Desa Kelating in Tabanan Regency, on the island's west coast, and it will be the first commercial dropzone anywhere in Indonesia. Tandem exits from a Pilatus PC-6 Porter turbine, running between 10,000 and 13,000 ft in the opening months and settling at 13,000 ft as standard. The jump run sits over the Kelating rice terraces with the Indian Ocean on one side and Gunung Batukaru inland. Why it took this long is airspace, terrain and permits rather than any lack of demand. Bali's south is dense with traffic into Ngurah Rai, and a dropzone needs a landing area, a runway and an arrangement with air traffic control that most of the island cannot offer. Tabanan's west coast can. Until it opens there is no outdoor jump in Bali, and we will not pretend otherwise. You can, however, fly indoors on the island right now. iFly Bali runs a vertical wind tunnel at Trans Studio Mall in Denpasar — the island's only indoor skydiving facility, open year-round. The flight is a top-up on Trans Studio Bali park admission, at IDR 750,000 for visitors and IDR 400,000 on an Indonesian ID. It is a genuine freefall sensation and a different day out from a tandem, but it is here on Bali rather than a domestic flight away.
