Tandem Skydive — Desert Dunes (No Media)

13,000 FT · 60 SECSkydive Dubai's AFF licensing home.
Skydive Dubai's Desert Campus is the operational home of the brand's AFF licensing programme and runs out of the Margham desert off Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road toward Al Ain — about 50 minutes east of Downtown Dubai. Tandems jump from 13,000 ft over golden dunes and the open Margham expanse, with the canopy ride bringing the empty desert into view all the way down to the sandy landing zone. The aircraft mix is the same as the Palm DZ — Twin Otter and Cessna Caravan turbines — but the campus is purpose-built for serial training, not single-jump tourist throughput. The single all-inclusive tandem package runs AED 2,199 with medical insurance, professional video, and photos — slightly cheaper than the Palm DZ for the same product, reflecting the off-city location. Accelerated Free Fall Level 1 starts at AED 4,500 with full course pathways through to USPA A-licence. The campus closes June through August due to Gulf summer heat and re-opens for the September–May high season. Co-located on the same campus is Inflight Dubai, the brand's large indoor wind tunnel. The right jump for travellers who want desert scenery rather than the iconic Palm Jumeirah view (Skydive Dubai Palm covers that side), for serious skydivers pursuing a USPA licence (the AFF curriculum is genuinely the largest in the Middle East and one of the largest globally), and for couples or groups bundling a tandem with a tunnel block at neighbouring Inflight Dubai. Book ahead — the licensing-track students keep aircraft load factors high during peak weekends.
Check in, weigh in, sign the waiver. Twenty minutes of harness fitting and emergency-procedure briefing with your tandem master.
Bench-seated, headphones on, door closed. The aircraft climbs to 13,000 ft — the landscape shrinks under you.
Door open. Roll out. Terminal velocity. Your tandem master triggers the canopy around 5,000 ft.
Calm five-minute ride down. You take the toggles for a minute before your instructor sets up the final approach.
Make the day longer than the jump.

Eight real anxieties, addressed.
Tandem operators set their own weight limit (commonly around 90–115 kg) and confirm borderline cases on the day — check the exact limit with this dropzone when you enquire. AFF students have no upper limit but must fit the rig comfortably.
My tandem skydiving experience at the Dubai Desert Drop Zone was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment I registered to the moment I landed, everything was seamless and thrilling. Although my 9:00 AM booking was delayed until 11:30 AM due to low visibility (which is completely understandable for safety reasons), it was well worth the wait. The team’s commitment to safety was clearly their top priority, which made me feel at ease the entire time. The desert view from above was simply breathtaking – I’ve never seen anything like it! A huge thank you to Instructor Mark, who made the jump smooth and exhilarating, and to Videographer Floyd, who captured every moment perfectly. A big shoutout to the entire Skydive Dubai team for making this experience so special. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to check skydiving off their bucket list!
Did my AFF course over the last 3 days and had an amazing time - easy going but super professional team. Smooth process with ground school and Cat jumps... Shoutouts to Tijana, Akym, Troha and Kai - awesome guys, thank you very much!
I did my first skydive here. The staff was friendly and helpful. My experience was great. The view of the desert was spectacular. The place is away from the city and the taxi ride is a bit expensive. Keep this in mind while booking. And a general advice to anyone skydiving have earplug or equalize before your jump.
Airfield gate — operator shares the exact pin and driving directions in the inquiry reply. Dubai is the customer-facing hub.
Most jumpers drive or use Careem or Uber. Parking and transfer arrangements vary by airfield — the operator confirms specifics in the inquiry reply. Plan a 2-hour buffer before your manifest slot for traffic and check-in.
Block 3–4 hours on site for tandem (briefing + climb + jump + canopy). AFF students should plan a full day.
