Search “skydive Bangkok” and you’ll find plenty of listicles pretending the capital has a dropzone. It doesn’t — Bangkok’s airspace is among the busiest in Southeast Asia, and no operator flies jumps inside the metro area. The honest answer is better than a no: two of Thailand’s three active dropzones sit within a two-hour run of the city, both treat Bangkok visitors as their core customers, and both are cheaper than almost anywhere else in Asia to jump.

Option 1: Thai Sky Adventures (Pattaya) — the classic day trip

RELATED DROPZONE
Thai Sky Adventures
PATTAYA · THAILAND

Ninety minutes southeast on Motorway 7, flying from the U-Tapao area near Pattaya. Tandems start at THB 9,450 from 13,000 ft over the Gulf coastline; the operation is USPA-affiliated, with fun-jump tickets from THB 1,000 and AFF training from THB 88,950 for anyone starting a licence. Logistics from Bangkok are the easiest of any Thai dropzone: bus from Ekkamai to Pattaya then a 30-minute Grab, or a direct drive or private transfer to the dropzone.

Option 2: Dropzone Thailand (Rayong) — the value pick

RAYONG · THAILAND

About two hours from Bangkok via Motorway 7 and 36, on a private airstrip in Rayong province. This is Thailand’s lowest-priced tandem at THB 8,000, with a slightly higher exit at up to 13,500 ft. Hotel pickups from Rayong and Pattaya are typically available; from Bangkok it’s a comfortable self-drive or arranged transfer.

Same coast, under an hour apart. Pattaya wins on convenience and the tourist infrastructure around it; Rayong wins on price and altitude. If you’re staying in Bangkok and coming down only for the jump, Pattaya’s transport links are simpler. If you’re already heading along the eastern seaboard, Rayong is the budget play.

The mountain alternative: Chiang Mai

A one-hour flight from Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi puts you at the home of skydiving in Chiang Mai — Thailand's most scenic jump, with two operators flying from Phusanfah Airfield from THB 8,850, dropping over the Mae Taeng valley with the Doi Suthep range on the horizon. Worth it if your itinerary heads north anyway; overkill as a Bangkok day trip.

When to jump

November to March is the dry-season sweet spot — calm winds, low humidity, and minimal weather holds. Jumps run year-round, but monsoon-season afternoons reschedule more often; book a morning slot and keep a spare day in your plans if you’re travelling specifically for the jump.

Frequently asked questions

No — the nearest are Thai Sky Adventures near Pattaya (about 90 minutes) and Dropzone Thailand in Rayong (about two hours). Both are bookable through Skydive In Asia.

Tandems start at THB 8,000 in Rayong and THB 9,450 near Pattaya. Photo and video packages are extra, and licensed fun jumps start from THB 1,000.

Yes — leave early morning, jump before the afternoon heat builds, and you’re back in the city by evening. In monsoon season, keep a buffer day in case of a weather hold.

Yes — weekend slots fill first, and morning slots have the best conditions. Booking online locks both your slot and the price.
