Skydiving in Chiang Mai.

No. Phusanfah Airfield, the only skydiving dropzone near Chiang Mai, was ordered to halt operations by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand from 1 June 2026, and no reopening date had been announced as of 17 August 2026. Both booking brands that fly from it, Skydive Thailand and Skydive Chiang Mai, are closed to bookings.

Because Chiang Mai has one dropzone and two booking brands. Skydive Thailand and Skydive Chiang Mai both fly from the same runway at Phusanfah Airfield in Mae Taeng, at the same 13,000 ft exit altitude. They advertise separately and take bookings separately, but there is only one airfield, and the closure applies to it rather than to either brand.

Neither operator has announced a date. Skydive Thailand said on 31 May 2026 that it was unsure how long the closure would last, and had posted no update as of 17 August 2026. We check both operators directly and will update this page when either confirms a reopening.

Thai Sky Adventures near Pattaya and Dropzone Thailand in Rayong are both operating, each roughly two hours from Bangkok, with tandem exits from 13,000 ft. Both are on the eastern seaboard rather than in the north, so the view is coastline rather than mountains.

The last published prices before the closure were THB 8,850 for a jump-only tandem, rising to about THB 16,850 with a full photo and video package, and AFF training from THB 88,000. These were last verified on 3 August 2026 and should be treated as historic until the airfield reopens.

November to February, once the agricultural burn season has ended and mountain visibility returns. March and April bring haze that affects both views and scheduling, and the June to October monsoon limits flying. Worth factoring into any trip planned around a reopening.
