About Skydiving in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is Northern Thailand's mountain skydiving capital. Two operators run from the same Phusanfah Airfield on the Mae Taeng plain 30 minutes north of the old city: Skydive Thailand, the rebranded Khao Yai operation now flying the NZ Aero 750XL turbine to 13,000 ft, and Skydive Chiang Mai, the long-running international tandem outfit. Both jumps drop you over a patchwork of rice paddies, the Ping River, and the Doi Suthep range — visibility on a clear post-monsoon morning extends to the Burmese border. Best window is November to March when humidity drops and the air is cleanest; April-May brings haze from agricultural burning, and the June-October monsoon shuts most operations. Tandem prices start at THB 8,850 (Skydive Thailand) and run to THB 12,750 for the highest altitude pass with handcam. AFF Level 1 packages go for THB 145,000. Getting there: 30-45 minutes by Grab from Old City; private transfer included on most package bookings.
