The state of the sky in Indonesia.
Indonesia is about to get its first commercial dropzone. Skydive Bali is targeting 2027 at Desa Kelating in Tabanan, on Bali's west coast — Pilatus PC-6 Porter, tandem exits between 10,000 and 13,000 ft over the rice terraces, with the Indian Ocean on one side and Gunung Batukaru inland. Civil aviation approvals are in place with DGCA, FASI, AirNav Indonesia and OTBAN Bali. Tandem only at launch, AFF to follow. Prices are not yet confirmed and we will not guess at them. Until it opens, the flying we can put you in front of here is indoor. iFly Jakarta runs a year-round wind tunnel from IDR 850,000 for foreign visitors — beginner-friendly, weather-independent, and genuinely useful preparation for a first outdoor jump. So there is still no outdoor dropzone taking bookings anywhere in the archipelago today. Operations across the islands have come and gone with seasons, aircraft availability and permits, and we would rather show you nothing than point you at a jump that is not running. If you want a real exit before Bali opens, the nearest active dropzones are in Thailand — direct flights from Jakarta to Bangkok, two operators flying, tandems from THB 8,000. May to September is Indonesia's dry season; November to March is Thailand's prime window. Join the Skydive Bali list and we will email you the day it starts taking bookings. One email, nothing else.
