About skydiving in Nepal

The state of the sky in Nepal.

Nepal is where skydiving stops being an activity and becomes an expedition. Two operations run here, and both are narrow annual windows rather than year-round dropzones. Pokhara Skydive is a USD 850 helicopter tandem exiting at 11,000-13,000 feet with the Annapurna range filling the horizon, video and photography included — held once a year, in November only. Everest Skydive at Syangboche is the bucket-list outlier, exiting from up to 23,000 feet with supplemental oxygen above the Khumbu, from USD 22,000, in the October–November post-monsoon window. Timing is everything, and in Nepal it is unusually unforgiving: miss the window and there is no second chance until the following year. Exact dates are set once each year's crew is confirmed, so ask us before you book flights around a jump. Build your trek or Pokhara stay around the dates once they are fixed, and treat a weather day as part of the plan — this is mountain flying, and the mountains decide. Worth knowing if it matters to you: Pokhara's operator says they have always had a female tandem master on the crew, available on request. That is rare in the sport anywhere in the world.

Good to know

Skydiving in Nepal: your questions.

How much does skydiving in Nepal cost?

Pokhara Skydive tandems are USD 850, with video and photography included, exiting a helicopter at 11,000-13,000 ft over the Annapurna valley. Everest Skydive is the bucket-list option: from USD 22,000 for a tandem from up to 23,000 ft near Syangboche.

When can you skydive in Nepal?

November, essentially. Pokhara Skydive is an annual event held in November only — the operator confirmed to us it does not fly in other months. Everest Skydive runs short expeditions in the October–November post-monsoon window. Exact dates are set year by year, so check with us before booking flights around a jump.

What is Everest Skydive?

A helicopter-assisted jump program near Syangboche in the Everest region — exit from up to 23,000 ft with supplemental oxygen, landing at one of the world's highest drop zones. Licensed-jumper expedition packages are also offered.

Is Pokhara Skydive good for first-timers?

Yes — it is a conventional tandem at USD 850, jumping from a helicopter at 11,000-13,000 ft with the Himalayas as the backdrop. No experience is needed. A female tandem master is available on request, subject to crew confirmation, which is rare anywhere in the sport. The catch is timing: it runs once a year, in November.
